Catch The Vision!

May is here and we are quickly approaching two historical days for Harmony Grove Baptist Church. First, as we celebrate being the Body of Christ, we will have a banquet for the entire body of Christ on May 12, 2012. That night will be a time of celebration and challenge as we look back at all God has done in our church history. We will look around at all He is currently doing with the ministries that are working to accomplish the great commission. We will look to the future to catch the vision that God has prepared for the unique people that serve Him through the Harmony Grove Church family. This will be a time where we are all challenged to operate daily in prayer, proclamation, worship, service, and sacrifice. On May 13 the Body of Christ day, this too is going to be a historical day for our church. We will take historical photographs of all of our Sunday school groups and classes. That day we will also be taking an overhead photo of all of our people gathered outside of the church after the service. All who are in attendance will get a copy of this very important photograph. This campaign is not something we will do for a few months and then forget. This ministry has forever changed your pastor and I believe your church as well, as we strive to be the authentic body of Christ. We have very little time left before these days are upon us and I have a request! I am asking all of our church family to consider investing yourself in

a committed time of prayer and fasting before the Body of Christ day. I will not make a spectacle of fasting. I unashamedly ask all of you to join me in a time of fasting and prayer. I request that you only do this if you are physically able to do so. Fasting should be a very private matter, so please don’t allow yourself be a distraction to the glory of God. Fasting is a time when you give up food, or for instance, consume only vegetables or juice. This time allows you to be focused upon the will of God and His plans for your life and your church. God historically moved spiritually when His people got serious in their desire to honor and worship Him. Please make sure if you join me in fasting in the next few weeks that it brings honor and glory to God. I believe God is up to something big and He plans to do it in and through us so...hold on!
